Amber Heard has joined Channing Tatum in Warner Bros male stripper sequel “Magic Mike XXL” as one of the leading female roles. Details remain unknown about Heard’s character, but she joins a continually growing cast for what has been described as an “on-the-road adventure“.
Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello are also reprising their roles from the 2012 original, and it has also been reported Alex Pettyfer has just inked a deal to also reprise his role from the 2012 box office hit. The first movie was a surprise hit with $167 million in worldwide box office. Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin are producing with Gregory Jacobs, who is also directing. The casting news comes shortly after it was confirmed Oscar-winning star Matthew McConaughey will not be returning as money-grabbing club boss Dallas.
Magic Mike XXL is scheduled for release next summer. Amber Heard was most recently seen in “3 Days to Kill” and will be seen next in “London Fields” with Billy Bob Thornton, “The Adderall Diaries” opposite James Franco and “When I Live My Life Over Again” with Christopher Walken.
