Amber Being Pursued for Fantastic Four Reboot ?

August 23rd, 2010     11:03 am

Rumor about Amber released recently about a role in Fantastic Four films. You can read below an article from www.comicbookmovie.com.

The young actress is one of the candidates FOX is interested in signing as the Invisible Woman for their new Fantastic Four movie franchise, if the film is ever green lit.
The two previous Fantastic Four films, released in 2005 and 2007 respectively, turned a decent profit but received poor reception from critics and fans. FOX has now decided to take the franchise in a new direction by way of a complete reboot. Fantastic Four: Reborn, as the film’s working title is rumored to be, will supposedly have a very different tone than Tim Story directed films; and will feature a completely CGI rendered version of the character The Thing (previously portrayed by a rubber-suit clad Micheal Chiklis).

Just this week we learned that actress Alice Eve, since dropping out of her role as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class, is being looked at by FOX to possibly carry the role of Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman, in the new Fantastic Four film series. Another actress being linked to role has just popped onto my radar: Amber Heard. Jessica Alba portrayed the heroine in both, previous films, and has been confirmed to not be reprising the role.

Amber Heard, whose film appearances include Zombieland and Pineapple Express, will next be seen in theaters alongside Nicholas Cage in Drive Angry 3D. Another name that has recently been associated with the film is that of relatively unknown actor Kevin Pennington; who the studio has an interest in taking over the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch; a character which many fans believe Chris Evans portrayed very well.
Although the actress has met with FOX several times in regards to starring the Fantastic Four reboot, the film will not enter into production until the studio’s next comic book film, Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, is proven successful.
